A simple and delicious cherry jelly recipe perfect for spreading on toast or using as a dessert topping.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 packet (1.75 oz) powdered pectin
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Wash and pit the cherries.
  2. Combine cherries, water, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove solids.
  4. Return the liquid to the saucepan. Add sugar and pectin.
  5. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute.
  6. Remove from heat and skim off any foam.
  7. Pour into sterilized jars and let cool.

Notes

  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • For longer storage, process jars in a water bath canner.
