- 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 packet (1.75 oz) powdered pectin
- 1/2 cup water
- Wash and pit the cherries.
- Combine cherries, water, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove solids.
- Return the liquid to the saucepan. Add sugar and pectin.
