Spicy and flavorful chipotle beef taco meat, perfect for filling tacos, burritos, or nachos.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
  • 1 tbsp adobo sauce (from the can)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup water or beef broth

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  5. Mix in chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Pour in water or beef broth and simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Adjust seasoning if needed and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more chipotle peppers.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Use in tacos, burritos, or as a topping for nachos.
