  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (12 oz) can tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and water.
  6. Mix in salt, pepper, basil, oregano, and sugar.
  7. Simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
