Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them in the air fryer basket.
  4. Cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway, until the meatballs are browned and cooked through.
  5. Toss the cooked meatballs in BBQ sauce.
  6. Split the sub rolls and fill them with meatballs. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Place the subs back in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for best results.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • For extra smokiness, add a dash of liquid smoke to the BBQ sauce.
